Yuri Leiderman

Achselhöhlen eines Entenflügel

(rothaarig, schwarz, weiss, kastanie)

Yuri Leiderman (geb. 1964 in Odessa, lebt in Moskau) verwandelt in seiner ersten Einzelausstellung in Deutschland den Ausstellungsraum in eine Bühne für ein poetisches dreidimensionales Diagramm. In quasi-objektiver Weise werden eigene Arbeiten in Beziehung mit singulären semiotischen Elementen gesetzt, deren Bedeutungen zwischen Farbästhetik abstrakter Malerei, Naturgeschichte und Politik schwanken.

"Leiderman's poetics pursue the goal of attaining a new post- catastrophic identity, which may be defined as negative ontology. The message of his poetics lies in appealing to the horizons of universalism, in persistently developing ontological constructions. Opposing the lapidary style of the poetics of reality, Leiderman values highly speculative deliberation, the impeccable logic of cause and effect procedures, and the architectonic harmony of his ontological models. Yet his constructions are inevitably based on a semantic vacuum: one line of their logical chains is broken. Leiderman's poetics both reconstitute onotological values and dismantle them. Today, with ontology in crisis, he attempts to enhance the process of examining ontology proper, yet avoiding ideological ghosts, or conservative orthodoxy." (Viktor Misiano)
